A Note About Lye

Sodium hydroxide, commonly called lye, is essential to traditional soapmaking. During saponification, the lye reacts with the oils and butters to create soap and naturally occurring glycerin. Once the soap has been properly made and fully cured, no active lye remains in the finished bar.

Each bar is handmade and hand poured in small batches. Natural variations in color, shape, pattern, and weight may occur, making every bar beautifully unique.
